Asphalt Anchors
Asphalt anchors are specialty fastener products designed to be secured to asphalt using a chemical-based grout. The grout is comprised of resin or epoxy, providing a distributed and secure hold with the asphalt. Installation of asphalt anchors requires drilling into the asphalt, filling the drilled hole with the grout, and inserting the anchor into the grout until flush with the ground. Once the anchor is installed, a hex cap screw and washer are used to attach materials to the installed anchor.
Advantages of Asphalt Anchors
Because asphalt carries less holding strength than concrete, traditional fastening techniques often used for concrete applications do not work with asphalt. Wedge anchors or other expansion-based anchors cannot be used with asphalt as they will eventually rupture through the blacktop.
Chemical-reinforced asphalt anchors create a reliable and economical solution for fastening to blacktop. The grout fuses with the asphalt, providing superior holding strength and durability.
